Curriculum

At Sibford we offer a broad and balanced curriculum taught by dedicated teachers who nurture, inspire and stretch their pupils. All disciplines are equally respected and our taught curriculum is greatly enriched by trips, conferences, concerts, exhibitions and the extensive use of our fully staffed library and excellent ICT facilities.

A wide-ranging curriculum, designed to help pupils discover and develop their own individual talents is taught at Key Stage 3 (Years 7 - 9).

In Years 10 and 11, we have a core curriculum of English, Mathematics, Science, Religious Studies, Physical Education and Personal, Social and Health Education, while option choices are carefully constructed after consultation with parents and pupils.

Creativity is key to the approach we take to life at Sibford. Our art school comprises of large studios dedicated to painting, textiles, ceramics and sculpture; our purpose built music school offers a full range of facilities with practice rooms, a fully equipped technical studio and delightful ensemble room. Drama is taught as an individual subject to pupils in Key Stage 3 and is available as a Performing Arts subject at GCSE and A Level.

All pupils follow a physical education programme that aims to promote health and physical development. The school has an excellent purpose-built sports complex which includes a 25 metre indoor swimming pool, multi-gym and fitness room while our extensive grounds play host to a variety of sports including football, rugby, cricket, tennis, netball, athletics and rounders.

Sibford also has its own nature reserve, pond and nursery - complete with greenhouses and potting sheds - which are used extensively by students studying horticulture and environmental science.
