Orchard Close
Orchard Close is the Junior School of Sibford School. It occupies its own distinctive area of Sibford's 70-acre campus which means it can operate as a self-contained school while at the same time benefiting from access to the specialist staff and facilities available to the senior school.
In line with our Quaker ethos, the sense of respect for the voice of the individual is the cornerstone of life in Orchard Close. By being encouraged to think and act in a way that encourages self-respect, children become more understanding and tolerant of others and develop a strong sense of personal discipline.
Opportunities exist for children of varying abilities and talents to flourish and explore their individual talents. Pupils are supported through their mistakes and applauded for their successes. This enhances self-esteem and encourages an enduring sense of personal value and a belief that we all have something to offer.
The broad and balanced curriculum at Orchard Close is further enriched by a range of visits to bring alive a topic or a new skill. Opportunities abound for physical exercise, with weekly swimming lessons in our superb indoor pool and a full programme of sports fixtures. All children are able to develop their skills in music, drama and art and the school is privileged to have its own ICT suite which is linked to the internet.
