Enhanced Learning

Sibford's Enhanced Learning Programme Faculty has a well established reputation for enabling pupils with various specific learning difficulties ~ including dyslexia, dyscalculia and dyspraxia ~ to achieve their full potential.

Pupils follow the mainstream curriculum along with their peers and benefit from a wide choice of options to suit their needs. Individual additional support programmes in literacy, numeracy and study skills are also provided. This tuition takes place in small groups and is usually in place of a modern foreign language.

Pupils are further supported by the knowledge that teachers of all subjects appreciate their particular needs and work with their specialist teachers to overcome any problems in the classroom.

In the sixth form, pupils receive individual tutorials to help them make the best of their A Level studies. Help is also available when it comes to making their University choices and applications. The results, and subsequent careers followed by our pupils, show that conditions such as dyslexia need be no bar to success.

We also strive to identify and meet the needs of our most able pupils and to give them the opportunities to be involved in enrichment and extension activities both within and outside the school.
